This Coming Election 2007

Posted by: Jonathan Tabianan | February 6, 2007 |

The election is coming, the campaign starts this coming week, May 2007. Are you already a registered voter? Anyway, it doesn’t matter, my real question is:

“Who do you think must take on the seat in our government, from senatorial down to mayorial (please check my vocabulary)?”
Hmmm, politician’s names are running through my head right now…

Ok, before you answer that question let me ask another very important question.

“What are the qualities, good qualities, of let’s call them ‘candidates for public service’, for the sake of good ones, must a candidate possess in able for him/her to win the power to govern “YOUR FUTURE”, our “COUNTRY’S FUTURE”? …
“Your future always depends in your hands and so our country’s.”

Would you think for the long term eventual destruction and corruption of our identity as one nation or its eventual betterness. You only have two sides of choices and you still have 3 long months to think about that.

Anyway, here are some of the qualities a candidate must posses for him/her to win my vote: (a) First and foremost,“A Man of God”. A candidate who possess this quality is immune from corruption, which is I think one of the primary “virus” in our country, (b) second, “A Man of Wisdom”. You can never govern if you lack this quality, (c) thirdly, “A Man of Vision”. You cannot lead if you do not have a vision, an ultimate goal, (d) fourth, “Good Reputation”. No need to explain it. (e) fifth, “Genuine Sincerity”. You cannot “serve” well and make it planted to the heart of the people if you lack this, and last but not the least, (f) “A Leader”. You cannot win people’s cooperation without this quality.

Right now, I have several candidates on my list. Some of them might not run but I’m hoping they would.

  1. Sen. Gringo Honasan
  2. Cong. Chiz Escudero
  3. Bro. Eliseo Soriano
  4. Bro. Eddie Villanueva
  5. Lt. Trillanes (indefinite)

I hope this entry gave you some idea on how to vote wisely…
