National election was done. New set of leaders that will govern our country has done taken their oaths. Time for our country to go on for a better future. The question is “Will these leaders govern our country unitedly or they would just sit there and throw accusations and expositions of each other’s hidden agenda again, just like the past leaders we voted?”
Remembering Hello Garci Scandal, the Jose Velarde Account, Jueteng Payola, Fertilizer Scam, etc. somehow reminds me of famous telenovelas Filipinos love to watch. Makes me wonder whether Filipinos are really taking the issues seriously or just being entertained with it. It is hard to think that these leaders we voted to be our role models are also the one we will be laughing about in the future.
Some politicians say Filipinos of today are more intelligent voters and learned a lot already from past experiences. In addition, some say Filipinos think about not only for their own interest but for the general welfare. Well, our current situation speaks the truth than those politicians who are just trying to fish out more votes by saying flowery words to the public. Learning from experience is the most effective teacher and hopefully, this time, we’ll show to the world that we’ve learned already and looking forward for a better future.
