ThisĀ ZTE controversy, in my own opinion as a common concerned citizen of the Philippines who is very frustrated and on the verge of loosing hope for our country’s good political change, is a really disappointing act committed by the “leaders” in our government.
“WHERE IS YOUR SENSE OF NATIONALISM?”
I’m pointing this question on the “people” behind this disappointing, morale degrading and devastating act. The single fact that they favored foreign company than “our own” is unacceptable for the Filipinos (those who still have the spark of Nationalism in their heart).
Weighing “business” and “nationalism” in our government seems difficult for our leaders. Being more business oriented is good if it is in the right perspective but this particular issue, our “leaders” was caught between the forces of “money” and “nationalism” and they are unable to weigh them rightly.
“LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE.”
If you, “leaders”, really envisions for our country’s recovery as one “nation”, you must choose something that is intangible and potentially very powerful if handled properly, and that is Nationalism.
